Pharmacies are easy to come by, these days, but what is not always easy
to come by is highly professional service and unique specializations.
South Miami Pharmacy's state of the art facility allows them the
resources, space, and staff to provide the best pharmaceutical services
possible. A Doctor of Pharmacy is available for confidential
consultations, and the whole staff is trained to be competent about the
medications dispensed, as well as in how to ensure that patients are
treated respectfully and in a timely manner. The Accu-Med prescription
system helps the staff provide not only speedy service, but 99.9%
accuracy, both of which are important to any patient. Additionally,
South Miami Pharmacy makes it easy for you to transfer existing
prescriptions to their pharmacy, and they have an online refill system
that allows you to order your refill without having to wait on-hold on
the phone.
Another great aspect of South Miami Pharmacy is that we specialize in
uncommon or hard to find medications and including fertility. This means that you won't have to wait for the pharmacy to
order your medication and that you can count on us to have your
medication in stock when you need it.
Reliability, accuracy, confidentiality, and friendly service are all
part of the South Miami Pharmacy experience, making them a great choice
no matter your prescription needs.
South Miami Pharmacy is a provider of pharmaceutical services to long-term care facilities. We specialize in the unique needs of the elderly. We take our responsibility of providing medication very seriously. Our services are focused on improving the quality of life of the residents we serve, while reducing the cost to the payer of the pharmacy bill.
We at South Miami Pharmacy understand that moving into an assisted living facility, group home, or changing pharmacy can be a significant transition for everyone involved. That's why South Miami Pharmacy provides an easy, transition for your facility and families. As an added benefit, our pharmacist will routinely conduct a medication interactions review and perform consultations as needed. This is one more way we can assist patients who are taking multiple medications.
South Miami Pharmacy uses a unit-dose system, commonly referred to as “bingo card,” when packaging patient medications. In the 30-day bingo-card system, a patient's 30-day drug requirement is packaged in a single dispensing unit, and an individual dose is extracted from the card at the time of drug administration. Therefore, all doses are accounted for and can be safely administered by health care staff. The bingo card system is the gold standard for hospitals and long-term care facilities.
Our licensed pharmacist can educate your staff with the required self administered medication course.

We carry all medications necessary to provide you with the quality of life you deserve. We know that there can be many hurdles when it comes to getting your insurance to pay for your medicine, so we will work with your doctor and health insurance to get you the medicine as soon as possible.
Medications with a Personal Touch
It has been estimated that knowledge of Compounding was essential for 80 percent of all prescriptions dispensed in the 1920’s. Now, after the arrival of the Big Pharma, approximately 2% to 5% of all prescriptions in the U.S. are for compounded medications. Industrialization meant that many of the medications that the Pharmacist prepared could be mass-produced. Specialties made locally by the compounding pharmacist were replaced by patented drugs which were widely marketed by the drug companies. But, many health care professionals now realize that bigger is often not better and one size does not fit all. Doctors are once again prescribing compounded medications that can be customized by our compounding pharmacists to solve problems that have not responded to commercially available medications. Compounding pharmacies are regulated by their State Boards of Pharmacy and follow stringent federal guidelines in USP chapters 795 (for non-sterile) and 797 (for sterile compounding). Compounds are tested for potency and sterility. Our pharmacists have received advanced training in the art and science of extemporaneous compounding and will work together with the patient and his/her physician (or other licensed practitioner) to customize a medication containing the proper strength of the needed drug(s) in the most appropriate dosage form for each individual patient. In addition to providing medications in strengths, flavors, and dosage forms that are not commercially available, our compounding pharmacist can also prepare medications that are temporarily unavailable or have been discontinued for non-safety issues such as decreased usage or short shelf life. Please contact us to find out how we can work to customize medications specifically for you.
